When to Visit Tanzania

BEST MONTHS

The best time to visit Tanzania is from June to October. With June and July being the best months to experience the wildebeest migration. The northern Serengeti wildebeest river crossings is best experienced from August to September. Wildlife viewing is at its best as animals gather around water sources.

GOOD MONTHS

November to February are good months to visit Tanzania. It is low season and travellers can enjoy lower rates, January to February is the best time to witness calving and predators in action. Excellent bird watching with migratory birds present. There is still plenty of wildlife to see and the scenery is green and beautiful.

POOR MONTHS

March and April are very poor months to visit Tanzania as this is the peak of the wet season presenting the worst weather for game viewing. Many lodges and camps in the southern and western circuit parks close during this time but the northern circuit parks are still active and travellers can enjoy lower rates.
