DAYS 1 TO 3: NAMIB DESERT
ABOUT THE AREA :

The Namib Desert is one of the world’s most picturesque desserts and is an amazing place to travel to as a couple seeking a romantic refuge or for families looking for a mind-blowing educational experience for the whole family. The Namib is arguably the most photogenic landscape in the world with the contrasting blue skies, red sand dunes and white alt pans allowing for exceptional photographic opportunities



ARRIVAL


You will be met on arrival at OR Tambo International Airport by an Aspect Africa representative where you will be given your tour briefing and a welcome pack with some useful goodies before being assisted to your flight to Windhoek in Namibia

Little Kulala is an exclusive luxurious desert retreat located at the heart of Namibia\'s Namib Desert along the dry Auab riverbed in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve. The camp has direct access to the Namib Naukluft National Park and the famous red dunes of Sossusvlei, via an exclusive Wilderness Safaris gate. The camp is stylishly designed with inspiration from the desert landscape it features neutral colours and organic material that blends in perfectly with the surrounding environment. Little Kulala features eleven secluded and private thatched air-conditioned units each with a private plunge pool and a rooftop star bed where guests can enjoy star gazing and a romantic sleep out under the African skies. The units have an outdoor shower and a private viewing deck. The main area consists of a stylish entertainment area which has a library, curio shop, wine cellar offering a fine wine selection including South Africa’s best, and a cosy lounge and dining area. Besides exploring the spectacular Sossusvlei dunes, the famous Deadvlei, climbing Big Daddy and visiting Sesriem Canyon other activities that guests enjoy are game drives drive through the desert and into the Namib Naukluft National Park, nature walks and eco-sensitive quad biking around the private reserve. Guests can also explore the dramatic breathtaking vistas of the Namib desert during scenic helicopter flights or romantic hot air ballooning (both activities available at an extra cost).

DAYS 4 TO 6: DAMARALAND
ABOUT THE AREA :

The northern Damaraland and Kaokaveld regions of northern Namibia which flank the Skeleton Coast are an arid and rocky wilderness. The area is home to some hardy animal species that thrive in this harsh environment. Go in search of the desert elephants, the desert rhino and the desert lion that traverse these great lands.

DAMARALAND CAMP  { READ MORE }


Damaraland Camp is nestled in the Huab River Valley, arguably one of the most pristine wilderness areas in Namibia. This camp is surrounded by low hills and boasts dramatic views of the surrounding desert plains, ancient valley and distant peaks of the Brandberg Mountains. Damaraland camp is part owned by the community in an eco-tourism partnership between Wilderness Safaris and the Torra Conservancy. The camp has a great atmosphere with friendly, happy staff who are committed to making your stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible. It is lauded as one of the Namibia’s best camps, boasting ten spacious elevated adobe-styled, thatched units that blend perfectly with the surrounding landscape. Each tent features an en suite shower, a walk-in dressing area, a ceiling fan, tea and coffee making facilities and a spacious viewing deck with magnificent vistas. The main area features a spacious open living area with a bar, fireplace, swimming pool that’s conveniently located next to the bar and a boma area where guests can enjoy meals under the African skies. Desert elephants, oryx, springbok, giraffe and ostriches are often spotted in and around the camp. The Huab river is often explored in 4x4 game vehicles and desert lions, hyenas, herds of elephant, cheetah and sometimes black rhino can be seen. Visits to the Damara Living Museum where guests can learn about the fascinating traditional culture of the Damara people, Bushman rock art can also be viewed at Twyfelfontein World Heritage Site where some of Africa’s best rock engravings are found. DAYS 7 TO 9: THE SKELETON COAST
ABOUT THE AREA:

Few attractions in the world are as evocative and atmospheric as the desolately beautiful Skeleton coast on the most inaccessible shores of northern Namibia.

Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is an exclusive luxurious camp nestled in a broad valley at the confluence of two tributaries of the dry Hoanib River overlapping the Palmwag concession and the iconic Skeleton Coast National Park, in one of the most remote and stunningly unique areas of the Kaokoveld only accessible by light aircraft. The camp sits close to the ephemeral Hoanib River and is surrounded by breathtaking dramatic scenery of rugged mountains, gravel-strewn plains, large yellow sand dunes and dry riverbeds. The camp has eight suites consisting of seven twin or double tents and one family unit all with modern stylish finishes and overlooking a waterhole. The suites are all en-suite with shower only, have a spacious bedroom with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that brings in natural light into the room as well as lets in the starkly beautiful scenery. Private viewing decks equipped with a table, outdoor couches and a bar fridge provide a serene sanctuary where guests can sit and soak in the stunning views and spot some wildlife that frequent the waterhole which is positioned centrally in front of all suites. The design of the camp is unique with the suites and main area constructed from double layer canvas which allows for air circulation and helps to keep the cool in summer and provides insulation in winter. The main area is elegantly decorated with African baskets and a range of authentic African pieces in neutral colours that blend in perfectly with the desert landscape. The main are features a bar, dining areas with all round glass windows and large lounge area that gives magnificent views of the landscape and the water hole. Activities include game drives and nature walks where wildlife like the desert elephants, desert lions, leopards, hyenas and other species can be seen. A full-day tours to the Skeleton Coast is offered to guests who stay a minimum of three nights. The adventurous 4x4 trip to the coast explores the wilderness and wildlife of the Hoanib River and floodplain, the dune fields and Klein Oasis, and the Skeleton Coast’s rocky coastline with its huge Cape fur seal colony and a few shipwrecks remains. A scenic flight back to camp is undertaken weather permitting.

DAYS 10 TO 12: THE KUNENE REGION
ABOUT THE AREA:

The Kunene region of Namibia features some of the remotest luxury accommodation in African and is the home of the semi nomadic Himba – hardy pastoralists who roam the desert and lead a life in harmony with the indigenous plants and animals that have adapted to the harsh environment.

Serra Cafema Camp is one of the most remote locations in all of Africa , only accessible by light aircraft. This camp is perched amongst shady trees overlooking the bubbling rapids of the Kunene River within the Hartmann Valley surrounded by fascinating lunar-like landscapes of the Namib. Serra Cafema Camp offers one of the most exclusive, personalised and incredible safari experiences. The eight spacious chalets sitting on the banks of the Kunene River are built from canvas and stand on elevated decks with large wooden walkways connecting them to the main area. DAYS 13 & 14: ETOSHA
ABOUT THE AREA:

The Etosha Pans and surrounding savannahs are an incredible wildlife refuge in northern Namibia. The area teems with lion, leopard, elephant and the rare black rhino. Other predators thrive here too as do the usual plains game.
