DAYS 1 & 2: SOSSUSVLEI
ABOUT THE AREA :

The Namib Desert is one of the world’s most picturesque desserts and is an amazing place to travel to as a couple seeking a romantic refuge or for families looking for a mind-blowing educational experience for the whole family. The Namib is arguably the most photogenic landscape in the world with the contrasting blue skies, red sand dunes and white alt pans allowing for exceptional photographic opportunities

Kulala Desert Lodge sits at the foot of the grand Sossusvlei Dunes bordering the Namib Naukluft Park in the heart of the Namib Desert.  It is the closest lodge to Sossusvlei, accessed via a private gate exclusive to Wilderness Safaris. This lodge offers the most dramatic and spectacular views, surrounded by red dunes of the Namib, desolate mountains and rugged gravel plains. Kulala Desert Lodge comprises 23 luxurious thatched, canvas tents which are built on a wooden platform and a flat roof top where guests can sleep out under the star-studded, African sky. The en-suite, air-conditioned tents feature outdoor showers and private decks offering magnificent views of the desert landscape and the wildlife that freely roams the area.  Three of the tents are family units which accommodate families of two adults and two children sharing. The main area is built entirely from clay bricks and features a swimming pool on a wraparound deck overlooking a water hole and affording spectacular views of the surrounding desert landscape. A cosy lounge, well stocked bar and lively dining area offer a most comfortable retreat during a stay. Meals and bush stories can also be enjoyed in the boma area under the stars. Guided excursions to the famous Deadvlei, Sossusvlei sand dunes and to climb the Big-Daddy dune are major highlights along with game drives and nature walks in search of fascinating desert wildlife and vegetation, quad biking around the lodge\'s private reserve and hot air ballooning over the dunes and spectacular open plains ( hot air balloon flights are offered at an extra cost ).

DAYS 3 & 4: SWAKOPMUND
ABOUT THE AREA :

The holiday town of Swakopmund is a great place to reconnect with the world, sample some fine German restaurants and beers and take part in some exciting adventure activities on offer. The restaurants and eateries along the promenade are delightful with the fresh breeze of the icy Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful architecture of this quaint coastal town.

DAYS 5 & 6: DAMARALAND
ABOUT THE AREA: The northern Damaraland and Kaokaveld regions of northern Namibia which flank the Skeleton Coast are an arid and rocky wilderness. The area is home to some hardy animal species that thrive in this harsh environment. Go in search of the desert elephants, the desert rhino and the desert lion that traverse these great lands.

Doro Nawas is located on a rocky outcrop in the dry Aba-Huab River Valley within the Doro! Nawas Conservancy in Damaraland. The Camp’s location on top of a hill overlooking ancient plains gives spectacular unspoilt panoramic views of the ruggedly beautiful desert landscape, Etendeka Mountains and the red sandstone cliffs of Twyfelfontein. The views can be enjoyed from the main lodge’s viewing deck where meals are often served, from the sparkling swimming pool below the main area, from the open roof-top terrace which also offers amazing star gazing opportunities or from the chalets’ large verandas. The main area features a lounge, dining area, a bar and a boma area where guests can wind off around the fire or enjoy their meals under the African moon or star lit skies. Doro Nawas boasts 16 rooms built from a combination of stone base and canvas walls in natural colours that blend in perfectly with the surrounding landscape. The rooms feature a large bedroom well-appointed with luxurious amenities, a ceiling fan, in door and out door shower and beds that can be wheeled out onto the private decks for a sleep out under the beautiful African skies. Wildlife viewing at Doro Nawas Camp concentrates on the game found in the riverbed and along the valleys that fill with floodwaters during good rainy seasons. Game that guests can be on the look out for include the rare desert adopted elephants, oryx, giraffe, springbok and if lucky some desert lions, hyena, leopard and even black rhinos can be spotted. Other activities include visits to the Twyfelfontein Bushman rock engraving site, the Petrified forest, Damara Living Museum, Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes, guided bush walks or night scorpion walks or star gazing around the camp. DAYS 7 & 8: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
ABOUT THE AREA:

The Etosha Pans and surrounding savannahs are an incredible wildlife refuge in northern Namibia. The area teems with lion, leopard, elephant and the rare black rhino. Other predators thrive here too as do the usual plains game.
