DAY 1 & 2: EASTERN CAPE
ABOUT THE AREA : The malaria-free Eastern Cape is home to a number of private reserves and national parks. The area contains tracts of savannah grassland, semi-desert Karoo, coastal forests, dune belts and thickly vegetated valleys. All the general plains game as well as the legendary Big 5 and other quintessential African game occur in healthy numbers on the various reserves.


ARRIVAL


You will be met on arrival at OR Tambo International Airport by an Aspect Africa representative where you will be given your tour briefing and a welcome pack with some useful goodies before your flight to Port Elizabeth.

The area features a pleasantly mild climate, which allows for a mixture of fynbos, wetlands and forest habitats to thrive. The Garden Route is South Africa’s ‘Riviera’ and the small towns and villages along the coast attract many holiday makers at certain times of the year.

DAYS 5 & 6: HERMANUS
ABOUT THE AREA: Hermanus lies in the heart of Walker Bay on the south coast of the Western Cape and is world-famous for whale watching during the winter and spring months from April – November and as a base for Great White shark cage diving. This is an exceptional area for floral diversity - the fynbos biome forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom.

ABOUT THE AREA:  Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Wellington and Tulbagh form the core of the Cape Winelands, a breathtakingly beautiful region away from the bustle of Cape Town with colonial settlements dating back to the latter half of the 17th century when the Dutch first founded Stellenbosch and, the French Huguenots settled in Franschhoek. The extent and diversity of geographical features are marvellous, with more mountain peaks, ranges, valleys, cliffs, rivers, pools, waterfalls, springs, forests, caves, and other natural features than you could explore in a life-time.
